What is Vegan Design?

A vegan or cruelty-free product is one which does not originate from any living creature, is not an animal byproduct and is not tested on animals. In the world of design, a vegan designer offers products, materials and fabrics that do not contain, harm, torture or exploit any conscious living being. Vegan design acknowledges that all living creatures have emotions, feelings and should not be used for society's idea of luxury.

Vegan alternatives are healthier. They do not attract dust, insects and hold moisture. Animal skins and hides that are used for furniture are treated with toxic poisons that penetrate our skins. Vegan fabrics and products are gentler, cleaner and overall healthier for newborns, babies, children & adults.

Do you think using furs today is still modern? I don’t think it’s still modern and that’s the reason [Gucci decided to stop using fur .] It’s...out-dated.
— Marco Bizzarri, CEO of Gucci

Vegan Is The New Black!

The number one misconception that society has regarding animal skin, fur & feathers is that they are luxurious. This is 100% untrue. There is nothing luxurious or sexy about wearing a coat made out of 60 tortured & electrocuted chinchillas or sitting on a couch made out of 5 beaten & slaughtered baby cows. We live in an amazing time in which technology allows for the production of beautiful, innovative and truly luxurious materials and fabrics that do not contain any animal products.

Innovative materials are a true luxury, rather than [animal] leather, which has become a commodity.
— Stella Mccartney, Fashion Designer

There is a growing demand from consumers worldwide to put an end to animal testing and animal derived products. The community of compassionate shoppers, is only growing stronger, urging more and more businesses to offer vegan alternative items!

The vegan design movement is growing at an exponential rate and we are so thrilled that you are taking a step towards saving the lives of animals and transforming the world.
